meet our owner
Chris Harol
Entrepreneur, real estate developer, and hospitality operator driven by one core idea: community matters. Fifteen years ago, Chris did what only a true analytical entrepreneur would do — he built a spreadsheet comparing major metro areas across the Southeast, ranking crime rates, school systems, cost of living, weather, and economic strength. Raleigh consistently rose to the top. After visiting with his family — and falling in love with the area — Chris and his extended family made the move together. Within the Triangle, Holly Springs stood out as the ideal place to raise a family and build something meaningful.
Over the years, Chris has built and successfully exited companies including Lighthouse Lab Services and Coworking Station before turning his focus to real estate development and hospitality. To some, the progression may seem eclectic. To Chris, it’s consistent. Community has always been at the center of his work. Whether creating jobs, building collaborative workspaces, developing mixed-use properties, or operating a rooftop restaurant, the mission has remained the same: create environments where people connect.
As the developer of The Block on Main, Chris saw an opportunity not just to construct a building, but to help shape the future of downtown Holly Springs. Nightingale was a long-held goal — a vision for an elevated yet welcoming gathering place that felt sophisticated without being pretentious. A space where neighbors could celebrate milestones, reconnect after long weeks, or meet someone new. Because Chris lives in Holly Springs himself, every decision carries personal weight. He isn’t just building for customers — he’s building for his own community, for the town his family calls home.
At its core, Chris believes life is simpler than we often make it. We need food, shelter, and companionship — everything else is secondary. Hospitality, when done well, supports all three. What he loves most about Nightingale isn’t the cocktails or the rooftop views — it’s watching people connect. Seeing friends laugh over brunch, new relationships form during events, or families celebrate together reminds him why he built it in the first place.
As downtown Holly Springs continues to grow, Chris remains committed to thoughtfully developing spaces that strengthen connection, elevate experience, and contribute to the long-term vibrancy of the town he proudly calls home.

leadership
team
With over seven years in hospitality and a decade in corporate marketing before that, Joy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the bar. She believes hospitality is a true profession rooted in education, intentionality, and the creation of meaningful experiences for both guests and team members.
Her career transition started at a local Triangle distillery, where she trained her palate and developed a deep appreciation for nuance in flavor. Her passion led to hands-on experience working alongside distillers in production, aging, and blending. During that time, she helped develop multiple award-winning spirits.
At Nightingale, she leads the beverage program with a focus on thoughtful cocktail development, seasonal ingredients, and balance in flavor. Her approach blends technical knowledge with creativity, resulting in cocktails that are both refined and approachable.
Joy is passionate about translating the chemistry, history, and craftsmanship behind spirits into engaging guest experiences.

Andrew Tienken
general manager
Originally from the Hudson Valley - New York, Andrew’s connection to hospitality began early, spending time alongside his mother at the catering hall where she worked. Surrounded by the quiet choreography of event preparation, he developed an early appreciation for the craft and discipline behind great hospitality.
Andrew began his professional career at United States Military Academy at West Point, beginning on the banquet floor and later advancing to Banquet Captain. The environment demanded discipline, organization, and consistency , helping shape the operational mindset & leadership style he carries today.
He went on to pursue this passion at the acclaimed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. During that time he continued working in hospitality while deepening his academic training in food and beverage operations, restaurant management, and hospitality leadership.
Over the course of more than a decade, Andrew has worked across successful restaurants, large scale catering operations, wineries, distilleries, and off premise events throughout the Hudson Valley. These experiences have given him a broad operational perspective and a strong understanding of both guest facing service and the systems that support it.
Backed by formal training in food and beverage operations and years of hands on experience, Andrew believes the tone for a successful shift is set long before service begins; through preparation, strong leadership, and a team that takes pride in delivering genuine hospitality.
